Thanks to its sandy soil, warm climate and plentiful sunshine, Florida is a national leader in citrus production. Across more than 400,000 citrus groves, Florida farmers grow a varied crop, including everything from oranges and grapefruits to specialty fruits like Temple oranges, tangerines and tangelos. You’ll find plenty of homegrown citrus available across the state from early fall through late spring, but the season peaks between December and May, depending on the variety. That gives you plenty of time to enjoy sweet, juicy citrus fruits at their best all winter long. The following recipes offer the perfect opportunity to take full advantage of citrus season in Florida.
