No matter how you pronounce it, pecans make a delicious snack. And no one knows that better than the Renfroe family of Pensacola, the third generation to run J.W. Renfroe Pecan Company, which specializes in pecans, pralines and homemade fudge.
The Renfroes got started in the pecan business back in 1931, when J.W. Renfroe Sr. began selling and distributing pecans wholesale. His son, Jake, took over the business, moving the hub to Florida in 1956, and the second and third generations expanded by opening a retail store and starting catalog sales. Today, the company operates several distribution centers in Florida, Alabama and Georgia.
While the Renfroes are still famous for their pecans, they also offer an assortment of other nuts, including raw, roasted, candied and salted varieties, as well as fudge and New Orleans-style pralines.

I would love to win because I am addicted to pecans.
I want to win because our family love pecans! Everything from pecan candy to pecan sandies, we love them!
I would love to win as I have never had any pecans or products from the J.W. Renfroe Pecan Co.. I would really, really like to try them. Thanking you in advance for your consideration.
I attended Catholic school and the Nuns would give us each a brown paper bag and we had to pick up Pecans in the playground and bring it back to the Nuns. I brought a nutcracker from home and I would secretly eat as many pecans as I could and also I would stuff some in my socks to bring home to my mother before we had to give the Catholic Nuns our bag of pecans.
I would love to win so that I can try your products. I love discovering new local and family owned farm products. I also love Pecans and Pecan Butter.
As a child my mother loved pecans. They were always shelled pecans. My siblings and I were given the task of cracking the hard shelled pecans for our mother. We became experts. You take two pecans in one hand, close the hand, take your other hand push down with your thumb, and apply pressure. Our mother soon learned we were eating what we were cracking, so she purchased a device to crack some pecans for herself.
When my late husband was alive he loved pecan pie, well I loved the pecans. He would eat his piece of pie, and my piece I would just pick off the pecans, and not eat the pie. He would actually get upset that I ruined the pie by just eating the pecans. I replied, “it was my piece of pie, and I could eat only the pecans if I wanted.” ha ha
The Pecan is not just a nut to me. It brings back precious memories, without the hard shell. 🙂
As a member of Florida Farm bureau, I enjoy having Florida grown products and appreciate the hours of work it takes to be a success at what a Florida farm bureau member does. Pecans are one of my favorites. Hope your business continues to be a success!

What a fantastic idea to introduce Renfroe’s pecan poducts
to such a novice as myself. Pecans have been a mainstay
in my family for some 40 years (I am now 82 pushing 83)
including the delicious pralines. I can still smell Mama’s
pecan pie in he oven.
Wish Renfroe had a retail outlet near me!
Absolutely love pecans…however my husband insists I pronounc the word pecan incorrectly, being educated far from Dixie. He says that is something the pioneers kept under their bed!
Nothing better than pecans! I love to munch on them as a snack, in a salad, in a pie, and in ice cream. Actually, I just LOVE PECANS!!!!!!
There is Nothing better to eat while watching March Madness with fresh shelled naturally sweet pecans. A sampler may change my mind.
We love pecans and keep them in the fridge year-round for snacking and cereal condiments. Thanks for offering this contest.
My wife and I love pecans and would be delighted to have a chance to win this.
What a prize! And nothing to do but sign up! As most that have signed up to win, I love pecans to. When I was a child my brother and I picked them up at my grandmama’s and cracked them with a rock! Fun and gooood!
I have spend my years visiting Florida from Canada. Pecans are what my grandmother introduced me too. Not just any pecans. Fresh pecans. We would stop at the side of the road and by bags of fresh pecans. We enjoyed local pecan sandies and pecan candy logs.
I may not live in Florida, but I visit many times a year. It is my home away from home. Pecans are now part of my life. I bake with them any chance I get. I share my stories of pecans to my children and now my children love pecans. I make pecan cookies and pecan buttermilk cake and my children now ask me to share my stories about pecans and Florida and now the love to go to Florida and taste pecans any where they can.
